Faringdon is the local historic market town. Blink and you’ll miss it, it’s tucked away off a busy road that connects Oxford to Swindon. We visit for everyday needs, from supermarkets to doctors and the weekly market. We didn’t choose it, just the general location, but it turns out that it has a fascinating past.

While in Painswick we took a lot of local walks, including through the churchyard and the mills down by the stream. Here is a bit of history and the pictures of those walks.

We moved into our rental cottage on December 28th. Little Coxwell in Oxfordshire. We're about 20 miles west of Oxford. Its a great 19th century cottage in a beautiful little village

The town of Painswick, where we stayed for our first 5 weeks in England. A town out of the 17th century. The walks down the vale, around town and up the hills were great.

St Mary's Parish Church, Painswick; We arrived in England late November and went to our AirBnB that we had rented for 5 weeks. We chose a small town in the Cotswolds called Painswick. Settled in the 13th century it developed into a mill town and was built from the stream up the hill to give beautiful views of the surrounding hills.
